Sound, Lighting & Event Equipment Hire​

That’s completely normal—many of our clients are organising an event for the first time. Simply tell us about your venue, expected guest numbers and what you’d like to achieve, and we’ll recommend a practical equipment package that suits your event—without recommending anything you don’t need.

The right sound system depends on your venue, guest numbers and whether you need background music, speeches or a full dance floor.

As a general guide, we recommend:

• Up to 40 guests: 1 speaker is usually sufficient for smaller house parties and intimate gatherings.
• Up to 100 guests: 2 speakers provide balanced coverage for most venues.
• 150–250 guests: 4 or more speakers ensure even sound throughout larger spaces.
• Music events and DJs: We normally recommend adding one or more subwoofers for deeper bass and a better dance floor experience.

If you’re unsure, simply tell us about your venue and guest numbers—we’ll recommend the right setup without overselling equipment.

Yes. We offer delivery, setup and collection throughout Cape Town, the Cape Winelands and most of the Western Cape. Our team can also provide on-site technical support if required. For smaller hire items and DIY equipment hire packages, you’re also welcome to collect and return the equipment yourself to help reduce costs

Weather is always a consideration for outdoor events – especially in Cape Town. We’ll discuss backup plans with you beforehand and can recommend covering the equipment, alternative equipment placement or indoor contingency options wherever possible. We have enough experience to safely carry on no matter what the weather does.

Our pricing is based on the event, not strictly by the day.

For example, if your event is on a Saturday, you’re generally welcome to collect the equipment on Friday and return it on Monday at no extra charge, provided this is arranged with us in advance and the equipment isn’t required for another booking

Delivery and collection can be included, depending on your location and the equipment being hired. We’ll clearly outline any delivery costs in your quotation, so there are no surprises.

Definitely. All of our equipment is available for dry hire where appropriate, or you can choose delivery, setup and technical support depending on your event requirements. We have plug and play battery and Bluetooth options for small weddings or bespoke gatherings

Our equipment is supplied with the necessary cables, stands and accessories required for normal operation unless otherwise specified. If your event requires additional microphones, lighting or specialised equipment, we’ll include these in your quotation.

Yes. For larger weddings, conferences and productions we’re happy to arrange a site visit to discuss power requirements, equipment placement and the most suitable setup for your venue.

Our battery-powered speakers can run for up to 5–6 hours at full volume on a single charge.

At normal listening levels, they’ll typically last even longer, making them ideal for wedding ceremonies, outdoor functions, sporting events and venues without access to power. We also have inverter systems for all the accessories like cordless microphones, mixers and laptops.

Yes! Audio Elite also provides professional DJ services for weddings, corporate functions and private events.

Our owner, Stephan, has more than 20 years of DJ experience and personally performs at many of the weddings we service. His focus is on reading the crowd, creating the right atmosphere and keeping the dance floor full from the first dance to the final song.

Yes. We regularly provide sound, lighting, staging and DJ services for outdoor weddings, wine estates and private venues throughout Stellenbosch, Somerset West, Franschhoek and the Cape Winelands. We’ll recommend equipment that’s suitable for your venue and discuss practical considerations such as weather, power and setup.

A popular birthday party package, including a professional sound system, party lighting, delivery and collection, typically starts from approximately R2,500

Every event is different, so we’ll tailor a package to suit your venue, guest numbers and budget without including equipment you don’t need

Yes. Most of our sound systems can easily connect to phones, laptops and other devices using Bluetooth or the appropriate audio cables. We’ll make sure you have everything you need before your event.

Our equipment is professionally maintained and tested before every hire. If you’ve booked technical support with your event, our team will be available to assist should any issues arise

No. We’re based in Strand, we regularly provide equipment throughout Somerset West, Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, Paarl, Durbanville and across the Western Cape for larger events.

We recommend booking as early as possible, especially during wedding season and the busy summer months. Popular items such as PA systems, projectors, staging and decorative lighting are often reserved weeks or sometimes even months in advance. We require a 50% deposit to secure any date or equipment

Not always. Smaller systems such as Bluetooth speakers, battery-powered PA systems and projectors are designed to be easy to use. For larger productions, conferences or live performances, we recommend adding one of our experienced technicians to ensure everything runs smoothly.
